Heritage Homestead Renovation & Extension
The Challenge
A large two-storey heritage homestead and associated outbuilding on a rural property required complete structural renovation. The existing timber frame needed reinforcing, the internal layout required full reconfiguration, the exterior cladding and render had deteriorated, and the outbuilding needed a complete rebuild from roof to cladding.
The Solution
Installed a new internal steel stud wall system throughout the ground floor, integrating structural steel with the existing heritage timber frame. Reconfigured the internal floor plan while preserving the original staircase. Applied sarking and traditional weatherboard cladding to the outbuilding, and restored the main homestead facade with wrap-around verandah, white columns, and decorative Victorian balustrade.
The Result
A heritage property restored to its original grandeur — structurally sound, re-planned internally, and presented externally with ornate Victorian character intact. The outbuilding was transformed into a sympathetically renovated complement to the main homestead.
